Taipei, Taiwan – July 22, 2010 – AVerMedia Information announces its leadership in visualizer product category in the USA and Western Europe for year 2009, according to Futuresource Consulting. In the USA, AVerMedia sold more than 108K visualizers in 2009 and attainted 41.6% product category share. In Western Europe, AVerMedia also remains #1 with 39% category share and sold 15.7K visualizers in 2009.
The mainstream market for visualizers still remains in education. 90% of all visualizers are sold into the Primary and Secondary (K-12) sector. The primary schools are still in the majority and have been very active in developing and using new applications. However, there are still opportunities for visualizers to move into colleges and universities where interactive whiteboards cannot give the clarity of display like visualizers do to engage large audiences. Futuresource even predicts that more visualizers will be sold in the USA than IWBs in 2011.
For year 2009, a total of 301K visualizers were sold in the USA and Western Europe. Futuresource forecasts a strong growth of market volume in year 2011 – 52% in the USA and 122% in Western Europe. More and more teachers and students can benefit from visualizers because the classroom penetration rate is growing at a fast pace. In 2009, 1 in 8 school classrooms in the USA had a visualizer and that will increase to 1 in 3 by 2011; in the UK the figures are 1 in 20 and increasing to1 in 7 by 2011. The rest of Western Europe is some way behind with 1 in 100 but moving to 1 in 25 by 2011.
“Interactive teaching is very common in Europe and North America, and AVerMedia Visualizer has becoming a must-have teaching tool in classrooms”, said James Chang, President at AVerMedia. “We are delighted that AVerMedia have once again proved its leadership in the visualizer market and it is our goal to continue improving the quality and be innovative to providing the optimized solution for the future classroom.”
