AVer launches the award-winning AP20 interactive pen

Taipei, Taiwan October 21, 2011AVer (TWSE:3669), a major global provider of presentation, communication and security solutions, has launched its second generation of advanced interactive pens, the AP20.* This latest release from AVer targets the educational community, setting a new standard in collaborative learning and classroom engagement.

The AP20 interactive pen works on any opaque surface in the classroom within a generous 15-meter range, with absolutely no worries about calibration. It has the look and feel of a normal pen, making it highly user friendly, and has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of both left and right-handed users. The unique, ergonomic design of the AP20 (formerly known as the New AVerPen) has already earned it the prestigious 2011 Computex Taipei design & innovation Gold Award, granted jointly by iF and TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council).

The AP20 is available in two different forms: Teacher Pens and Student Pens. The Teacher Pen boasts multiple features that allow it to function as a wireless pen, a presentation device and a controlling device for the Student Pens all at the same time. By combining the innovative A+ Interactive Software and the Teacher Pen, teachers can enhance students’ problem-solving skills, create challenging games and activities, and ensure high levels of teacher-student interaction. Pupils can use the Student Pens to respond to questions posed by the teacher and work with or against the teacher and/or other students individually or in groups. Plus, one Teacher Pen and up to six Student Pens can collaborate simultaneously on one screen at any given point in time.

Creating additional exciting opportunities is AP20’s compatibility with AVer visualizers (document cameras), particularly the powerful AVerVision F50. Any 2D or 3D object captured by the F50’s 5-megapixel sensor can be annotated easily, accurately and comfortably using the AP20 Teacher Pen, all without having to connect either device to a PC thanks to the F50’s onboard annotation feature.

Michael Ting, Vice President of AVer Information Inc., remarked, “The new AP20 has been carefully engineered to pick up where the first generation left off and to push the limits of classroom instruction and in-class activities by combining many of the technologies teachers love into one, easy-to-use solution.”

Bringing the power of 21st century technology to classes around the globe, the flexible, cost-effective AVer AP20 interactive pen offers teachers and students a totally new, interactive learning experience.
