AVerMedia Announces Its Patented Presentations Features

MILPITAS, CA - (October 28, 2002) - AVerMedia Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of multimedia video convergence technology, today announced that its presentation features that are a part of several its products are now patented.

The presentation features that first appeared in AVerMedia's computer-to-TV converters were designed to allow users to highlight important details and immediately catch the attention of the audience. The features are AVerMedia Pointer, AVerMedia Spylight and AVerMedia Spot.

AVerMedia Pointer is similar to a Laser Pointer in that it is a 4 x 4 pixel square that lets users direct their viewers' attention to key areas on the screen. AVerMedia Spylight allows users to highlight certain parts of the screen by darkening either unwanted horizontal or vertical regions. Lastly, with AVerMedia Spot, users can create a colored border around the place of interest and darken the rest. Highlighted areas can be created as large as 1/4th or as small as 1/64th of the presentation screen.
