LAS VEGAS HILTON, BOOTH 30139 - (January 8, 2002 ) - AVerMediaŽ
Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of Computer-to-TV conversion
technology, today announced the release of the AVerFotoplay
digital photo player. The device, unveiled today at the 2002 International
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, gives digital camera users,
as well as their friends and family, an inexpensive and easy way to
display pictures on a big screen television.
Available at a street price of only $79.99, and featuring a remote
control unit and 16-picture preview, this clever new palm-sized digital
camera accessory allows users to quickly and easily display digital
photos on both TVs and LCD projectors.
The plug-n-play AVerFotoplay truly makes the sharing of digital photos
simpler than ever before, as it doesn't require the use of either
a digital camera or a personal computer. Instead, users simply need
to insert a Type I CompactFlash or SmartMedia card containing photos
into the unit, and then connect to a TV or LCD projector through a
standard NTSC (RCA) or S-Video port. Unlike digital cameras that require
users to stand next to the TV to scroll through snapshots, with the
handy Remote Control, AVerFotoplay viewers can easily browse through
and display pictures, or even locate a specific shot via the time-saving
thumbnail preview feature.
The AVerFotoplay's support for up to 4M pixels or 2,400(H) x 1,800(V)
resolution in JPEG (EXIF) format allows it to generate images of impeccable
quality, making it ideal for use in displaying images captured by
today's most popular consumer digital cameras. The unit also includes
a 90-degree clockwise rotation feature to ensure that pictures will
always be upright, and its 2x digital zoom and pan functions afford
users the ability to view shots in even greater detail. In addition,
the AVerFotoplay's convenient auto slide show feature effectively
transforms it into a digital slide projector that allows users to
simply sit back and enjoy the show.
"The AVerFotoplay is both very affordable and incredibly easy-to-use,
which makes it a perfect solution for anyone that wants to view digital
pictures in a large screen format," said Kathy Shih, Marketing Manager
for AVerMedia. "It is particularly well-suited for family members
and friends that are interested in sharing digital photos, but who
do not currently own either a digital camera or a PC."
The feature-packed AVerFotoplay additionally offers sequential and
random picture access, includes an On Screen Display (OSD) function,
and supports gray scale image display. It has the flexibility to operate
on either AC power or via batteries, features support for both the
NTSC and PAL video standards, and also incorporates a built-in touch
button control panel to simplify operation.
The AVerFotoplay is on display at the International Consumer Electronics
Show at AVerMedia's exhibit, Booth #30139. The product is also available
through national distributors, resellers and retail outlets. For more
